Maggie grew up in NortheBioast Pennsylvania and attended Penn State University where she obtained a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management. Post college she went to work for a large hotel chain in Times Square NYC, her childhood dream. The fast pace and dog-eat-dog lifestyle of living in Manhattan did not suit her mellow personality so she soon moved back home to Northeast Pennsylvania and began seeking a more wellness focused career. Maggie started her yoga journey in 2010 while employed by the Himalayan Institute. She fell in love with the balanced teachings of the lineage at the Himalayan Institute and has been studying and teaching them ever since.
Soon after, Maggie received her 200 hour certification from HI, then subsequently her 300 hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Certification from Boundless Yoga studio in Stroudsburg, PA. She has also completed various other coursework including Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga and Children’s Yoga. In 2015 she began one of her toughest life endeavors, parenting. As the late spiritual head of the Himalayan Institute called it “the greatest practice of all”. She now has three energetic children, ages 5, 9, and 10 that keep her moving and cause her to dig deep and tap into her years of training and more specifically the yoga skills of patience, presence and calm. Her favorite yoga poses are child’s pose and inversions.
When Maggie is not teaching yoga, she is adventuring with her family. She can be found on the ski mountain, river kayaking, hiking, or enjoying some family time at the lake. She loves the water and being outside and her favorite cheat day guilty pleasure is chocolate peanut butter ice cream. Some fun facts about Maggie are that her love for the outdoors and traveling brought her to Bali Indonesia for her honeymoon where she and her husband rented a scooter and explored the island. Along with her many yoga credentials she is also open water scuba certified. Her dream is to lead yoga and adventure retreats around the world. I look forward to seeing you on the mat and hope to lead you with inspiration to helping you realize your dreams! Namaste!
